Scott D. Allen, Attorney

Scott D. Allen is a native Texan and has practiced law in Stephenville, Texas for over 35 years. He attended Texas Tech University and received his B. B. A. Degree in 1966. After receiving his J.D. Degree from the University of Texas, he practiced with a law firm in McKinney, Texas before opening his own practice in Stephenville, Texas in 1972.

Mr. Allen has been active in community civic activities for many years and has focused his law practice in assisting financial institutions, businesses, agricultural producers, oil and gas businesses, and others in their litigation and business matters.

Josh C. Allen is a native of Stephenville, Texas. He received a B.B.A. in Finance from Texas Tech University, magna cum laude. He continued his studies at Texas Tech University and attended the School of Law where he received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence, cum laude.

After law school, Josh and his family returned to Stephenville, Texas where he joined his father, Scott D. Allen, and together they formed The Allen Firm, P.C.

Stephen R. McKethan, Attorney

Stephen R. McKethan was born in Temple, Texas and raised in Waco.  He lived in Springfield, Missouri for five years until returning to Waco, Texas to complete high school He attended Texas Tech University where he graduated cum laude with a B. B. A. in Accounting.

After graduating from Texas Tech, he attended Baylor University School of Law where he competed in the Moot Court Competition. Stephen enjoys playing sports and spending time volunteering as he serves on the Board of Directors for Erath County Habitat for Humanity.

James E. Beam, Attorney

James E. Beam was born in Henrietta, Texas. He lived in Wichita Falls, Texas and remained there until graduating cum laude with a degree in Economics at Midwestern State University. After being nominated for the exclusive Freshman of the Year Award and graduating from Midwestern State, he moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech Rawls Graduate College and Texas Tech University School of Law. While attending law school, he was awarded the Presidential Scholarship and was co-founder of the Tax Law Society. In addition to his law degree he received a Master’s in Business Administration from Texas Tech.

James now practices law in Stephenville with his wife Lynda and their daughters Haleigh and Madison.

Jeremy M. Derington, Attorney

Jeremy M. Derington is a native Texan. He received a B.S. in Agricultural Communications from Texas Tech University. After teaching high school for brief time, he returned to Lubbock to attend the Texas Tech School of Law where he received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence, cum laude. Prior to joining The Allen Firm, P.C., Jeremy worked in the oil and gas industry representing the interests of both corporations and landowners.
